Job Summary
Review physician prescriptions and develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, and defining interventions. Provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends while teaching self-care skills regarding conditions and medications. Evaluate patient outcomes against standards, modify care plans as conditions change, and document all services in department records. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection-control policies, medication storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations. Keep patient care equipment operational through troubleshooting and preventative maintenance, while checking stock and expediting supplies. Coordinate with healthcare providers and alert others regarding potential concerns.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire
- ONS Fundamentals Provider Card - Oncology Nursing Society within 60 Days
- ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card - Oncology Nursing Society within 60 Days
- ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card - Oncology Nursing Society upon expiration of ONS Fundamentals Provider Card or within 2 years of hire--whichever is later
- visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- ability to communicate effectively with others
- hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
- Previous Oncology experience
