Job Summary
Nurse Residency Program for a Registered Nurse (RN) in Medical/Surgical Nursing. Graduate Nurse completes clinical skills under the direct supervision of a licensed RN, participates in professional development, and adheres to policy requirements. Responsibilities include collecting patient data, identifying problems, developing and implementing plans of care, providing nursing treatments and discharge teaching, documenting care, participating in quality improvement processes, and ensuring safe working conditions. Minimum education is ADN with preferred BSN; active RN license required; NCLEX testing and licensure process supported. Location: Maryville, TN at Blount Memorial Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Education - Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Graduate Nurse licensure may be accepted prior to hire with NCLEX date
- Current RN license recognized by the NCSBN Multistate Compact or licensed in the state of work
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing
- No previous experience required; candidates with >12 months of experience are not eligible
