Job Summary

Provide clinical direction for all aspects of patient care in an acute inpatient setting, fostering patient/family centered care using evidence-based practices. Conduct assessments, develop individualized plans of care, and validate goals with patients and the interdisciplinary team. Deliver direct care consistent with the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act while monitoring quality, ensuring patient safety, and incorporating cost containment principles. Manage discharge planning to assure continuity of care and coordinate tasks utilizing appropriate technology. This role is part of the Prisma Health Nurse Residency Program designed for new graduate nurses with less than one year of experience, offering core clinical training, simulation labs, and hands-on mentorship. The position requires an Associate degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred) and a current RN license, with a cohort start date of December 7th at Blount Memorial Hospital.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Nursing
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • One (1) year experience as a registered nurse
  • Successful completion of the Prisma Health Nurse Residency Program
  • Successful completion of a comparable residency from another organization
  • 1 year of licensed practical nurse (LPN) experience
  • Nursing diploma with licensure to practice as a registered nurse
  • Current RN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State
  • Licensed to practice as an RN in the state the team member is working
  • Must graduate 45 days or more prior to the start date
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be available for weekend shifts
  • Must be available for holiday work
  • Must be available for on-call work
  • Must adhere to all compliance and policy/procedures of the organization
  • Must complete assigned training
  • Must complete employee health screenings
  • Must comply with time and attendance policy
  • Must comply with dress code policy
  • Must maintain patient confidentiality
  • Must adhere to infection control protocols
  • Must administer medication
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of regulatory agency requirements (TJC, SC DPH, CMS)
  • Must provide care within the scope of the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act
  • Must maintain professional licensure
  • Must complete required mandatory education in a timely manner
  • Must hold a current RN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State
  • Must be licensed to practice as an RN in the state the team member is working
