Job Summary
Collaborate with the healthcare team to determine patient health goals, revise care plans, and establish compassionate support for patients and families. Maintain awareness of unit quality metrics to drive performance improvement and adhere to infection control, medication, and legal standards. Serve as charge nurse following orientation, manage nursing supplies inventory, and promote patient independence through education on conditions and self-care. Requires current DC RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and at least 12 months of acute care or scrub experience. Full-time 36-hour schedule with rotating on-call nights and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia
- Maintains active American Heart Association Basic Life Support BLS certification
- Maintains active American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support ACLS certification
- CNOR preferred
- At least 12 months of RN acute care experience in hospital-based nursing, OR scrub experience required
