Job Summary
The RN in the Neuro ICU provides individualized nursing care using the nursing process in a Level 1 trauma center designated Comprehensive Stroke Center. Responsibilities include collaboration with physicians to plan, implement and evaluate care; care planning and coordination; patient assessment; triage; patient education; and various nursing interventions across preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, an unencumbered RN license in the practicing state (with multi-state licensure if in an NLC state), and Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program required
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring
- multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
- Possesses required department-specific competencies and certifications as applicable
- Licensure as an RN in the practicing state
- Experience in neuro ICU or critical care settings is implied by unit designation
- Able to adhere to Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in state of practice
- Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based practice
