Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, document, and evaluate care for a wide variety of patients across medical-surgical, telemetry, acute care, ICU, and emergency units. Provide direct nursing treatment using a problem-solving approach while advocating for patient dignity, autonomy, and equitable access to services. Float to various locations based on census and acuity, acting as a consultant to unit-based staff and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity. Facilitate patient and family education, coordinate admissions and discharges, and lead disaster response efforts within assigned units.
Required Qualifications
- 2 Year / Associate Degree in nursing
- Other nursing diploma
- Minimum 3 years of RN staff experience in medical/surgical or telemetry environment
- Experience in three or more different nursing unit types (i.e. ICU, Intermediate Care, Pediatrics, Medicine, Surgery, OR, Psychiatric, Emergency, Procedural)
- NY State RN License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Extensive Travel - You should expect to travel every week
Desired Qualifications
- 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
- 3-4 years preferred" (Experience in three or more different nursing unit types)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- TNCC, NRP or NIH Stroke Scale certification
- At least one nursing certification in specific patient care settings: CMSRN/MEDSURG-BC for medical-surgical, CCRN for critical care (ICU), and PCCN for progressive care (step-down)
