Job Summary
Conduct nursing care for assigned patients in MedSurg, Acute Care, Post Surgical, Burn, or Bariatric units under the direct supervision of the Unit Manager and Preceptor. Perform the nursing process using evidence-based practice, coordinate interdisciplinary communication, and complete timely documentation while partnering with families on patient goals. Complete the 12-month Nurse Residency Program, including orientation phases, mandatory education, and competency assessments. Serve as a preceptor or mentor for other nurses and staff to support workforce development. Uphold Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act standards, TJC Patient Safety Goals, and Wellstar values.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma from an accredited nursing program
- Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing
- Bachelor's Degree BSN Preferred
- Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor
- Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact
- Less than 1 year or less of RN experience
