Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) plans, coordinates, and provides total nursing care for residents and provides supervision and guidance to clinical staff members. Responsibilities include initiating and leading team conferences to develop individualized nursing care plans, assessing and documenting residents’ conditions, administering medications and starting IVs, supervising LPNs/LVNs and CNAs, participating in orientation and in-service training, assisting physicians with tests and procedures, ensuring equipment and supplies are maintained safely, coordinating nursing care with therapy schedules, interviewing applicants and participating in hires, and supervising the nursing unit’s scheduling and staffing. The role requires strong leadership, teamwork, effective communication with residents and families, the ability to react decisively in emergencies, and knowledge of clinical training techniques and confidentiality requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited RN School of Nursing
- Valid RN license in the state employed
- Valid CPR certification
- One year of nursing experience preferred
