Job Summary
Provide nursing care to patients using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Direct assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary groups to deliver age-appropriate care addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs. Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment through privacy, respectful behavior, and adherence to professional standards. Identify clinical priorities to improve patient outcomes and coordinate care services using care management principles. Participate in shared governance, peer review, and professional development while accepting accountability for actions. Work as a PRN nurse in the MedSurg 6th Floor unit, requiring an Associate's Degree, one year of RN experience, and current BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time
- Proficiency in manual dexterity and fine motor skills
- Capacity to lift and move patients or medical equipment
- Visual acuity and color perception
- Auditory ability to effectively communicate with patients and colleagues
- Stamina and resilience to handle the physical and emotional demands of providing patient care
- Mobility to navigate clinical environments
- Compliance with infection control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment
