Job Summary
Develop individualized care plans and coordinate discharge planning with physicians, patients, and families. Administer medications and IV therapies accurately while monitoring effects and reporting adverse reactions. Monitor patients hourly or every two hours, perform hourly rounds, and promptly respond to patient call lights. Maintain a clean, safe environment by ensuring call bells are within reach and utilizing infection control procedures. Document all activities in the EMR, including education records, transfer records, and change-of-shift reports via BSSR. Provide patient education on new medications, adverse effects, and self-care instructions. Participate in performance improvement activities, problem identification, and the development of departmental standards. Serve as a preceptor for new personnel and direct ancillary staff members.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an RN program
- Current nurse's license in the state of Pennsylvania or a current multistate license (MSL) from compact member states/territories
- Associate's degree
- BLS within 30 days of hire
- ACLS within 30 days of hire
- Basic Trauma Nurse Course (BTNC) or equivalent training (ATCN, TCRN, TNCC) obtained within 1 year of hire
