Job Summary
Assess patients using physical, psychological, and risk-screen data; develop, document, and revise individualized plans of care based on ongoing evaluations. Communicate assessment findings with the interdisciplinary team and utilize available resources to meet patient and family needs. Comply with organizational policies regarding safety, medication administration, and documentation. Complete at least one clinical research utilization form annually using a research article from the last five years. Maintain Basic Life Support certification and complete mandatory in-services and continuing education hours. Perform medium physical exertion involving frequent walking, standing, or squatting. Night shift on a 36-hour schedule at Rochester General Hospital's 38-bed Medical Short-Stay Unit.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse license in New York State
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Completes a minimum of 5 nationally approved contact hours (CNE or CEU) per year
- Completes mandatory in-services and health screens in timely manner
- M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- At least 6 months RN experience preferred
