Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) for Medical/Surgical Stepdown at Duke Raleigh Hospital. Independently plan and provide professional nursing care per physician orders and established policies; delegate tasks and supervise other licensed/unlicensed staff; act as team leader or charge nurse as assigned; support professional development and performance improvement initiatives. Work 12-hour shifts (7A-7P), with weekend and holiday rotation; patient population includes sepsis, pneumonia, diabetes, sickle cell disease, GI conditions, and post–cath/post-dial care. Emphasis on applying nursing process, communication with patients/families, documentation, infection control, and safe patient care. Relocation assistance available based on eligibility; requires BSN, NC RN licensure, and BLS; magnet status and extensive nursing history highlighted.
Required Qualifications
- Education: BSN from an accredited program; RN licensure in North Carolina; BLS; Twelve months of clinical nursing experience or new graduates considered; Commitment to BSN if hired before/after certain dates; must maintain licensure and meet unit-specific competencies.
