Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate evidence-based clinical care for designated patients on the Med Surg and Ortho unit. Delegate tasks appropriately to licensed and unlicensed team members while demonstrating empathy and respect in all patient and family interactions. Competently perform safe nursing skills and procedures, including medication calculations, and critically think through routine and emergency situations. Work full-time day shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, 36 hours weekly.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from accredited School of Nursing
- Must have a Compact (multi-state) License in their primary state of residence
- Licensed to practice nursing in the state where work is being performed
- Meets contact hour requirements for licensure, including all state-required courses
- Focus of education promotes nurses' ability to practice in clinical area assigned
- Demonstrates knowledge of nursing theory, clinical practice standards, procedures, policies and competence in mathematical calculations associated with medication administration
- Competent to independently perform safe nursing skills and procedures
- Successful completion of preceptorship and orientation to the facility and clinical area
- Able to critically think and problem solve in routine and emergency situations
