Job Summary
Registered Nurse on Medical 7W Med Surg unit provides care to adult patients with common diagnoses through the nursing process, coordinating with other departments to ensure high-quality, compassionate care. Responsibilities include maintaining patient rights and confidentiality, evaluating care effectiveness, and supporting fast-paced patient management with emphasis on cardiac rhythm interpretation and acute medical care. Position specifics include Day shift (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) on a 36-hour/week schedule with sign-on bonuses for experienced and new graduate nurses. Eligible candidates hold an RN license in Missouri (or compact licensure) with BLS certification; BSN preferred. The unit focuses on conditions such as cellulitis, pneumonia, UTIs, chest pain, GI issues, COPD exacerbations, and medically stable COVID patients.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, per state board of nursing regulations
- Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit
- Certifications: Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
