Job Summary
Provide patient care in the inpatient Med Surg unit by utilizing the nursing process to evaluate and coordinate care for adults with conditions such as pneumonia, cellulitis, and small bowel obstructions. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients while ensuring confidentiality and adhering to Mercy service standards. Perform duties requiring the ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs, with prolonged standing and walking throughout the day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Full-time employment requires a current Missouri RN license, BLS certification, and an associate, diploma, or BSN in nursing.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Nursing Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri
- Compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Completion of BLS certification within 30 days of hire
