Job Summary
Provide patient care for adults with medical conditions such as respiratory infections, cellulitis, and pneumonia on the Inpatient Med Surg unit. Utilize the nursing process to evaluate care effectiveness, coordinate patient care with other departments, and maintain professional accountability for assigned patients. Perform duties consistent with Mercy service standards while ensuring patient rights and confidentiality. Requires current Missouri RN licensure, BLS certification, and an Associate, Diploma, or BSN in nursing. Full-time, 36-hour day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
Desired Qualifications
- BSN
- Additional state licensure or specialty certifications
- Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
- Previous hospital experience
