Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned adult medical patients with diagnoses including small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia. Maintain professional accountability for care provision, evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers, and coordinate patient care with other departments. Preserve patient rights and confidentiality of patient information while performing duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards. Work full-time days shifts from 7:00am to 7:00pm, 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Previous hospital experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties

- Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
