Job Summary
Plan and deliver direct and indirect patient care on the Medical Surgical Unit, developing nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff. Communicate changes in clinical conditions to physicians, nursing supervisors, and co-workers as appropriate. Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information while ensuring BLS and ACLS certifications are current. Requires Texas RN licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact eligibility. Join an 83-bed acute care hospital offering Cardiology, Emergency Services, and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER. Night shift full-time position.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of required education to obtain Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Registered Nurse (RN) with Texas Board of Nursing – OR – current home state license is required for multi-state license recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
- ARC (American Red Cross) is required upon hire
- Active ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification through AHA is required upon hire
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in Med/Surg hospital setting
- Experience with patient safety best practices
