Job Summary
Plan and deliver direct and indirect patient care on the Medical Surgical Unit, developing nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff. Communicate changes in clinical conditions to physicians, nursing supervisors, and co-workers as appropriate. Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information while obtaining required BLS and ACLS certifications prior to providing direct patient care. This role is a day shift full-time position at Seton Medical Center Harker Heights, an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services including Cardiology, Emergency Services, and General Surgery.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of required education to obtain Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Registered Nurse (RN) with Texas Board of Nursing – OR – current home state license is required for multi-state license recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
- Active ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification through AHA is required upon hire
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in Med/Surg hospital setting
- Experience with patient safety best practices
