Job Summary
Prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care for patients while leading unit-level decision-making and supervising team members. Implement physician orders, administer medications including oncology chemotherapy, and conduct patient/family teaching and discharge planning. Utilize assessment skills to identify biophysical, psychosocial, and educational needs, communicate workload fluctuations, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Provide one unit-based education session annually and promote public relations for the nursing department. Requires current Missouri State Board of Nursing licensure, BLS training, and BSN preferred. Day shift from 7 am to 7 pm.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an approved school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- BLS training
- Possess current licensure by Missouri State Board of Nursing
- Must have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
- Must use good body mechanics to independently lift or in certain situations, assist with lifting/transferring a patient
- Must have ability to read physician orders and observe patient care areas; utilize inspection skills during patient assessment
- Must be able to receive/comprehend telephone calls; auscultate and percuss during physical assessment
- Talking is essential in instructing and supervising nursing personnel, communicating physician orders and addressing patient/family needs and/or requests
- Day shift; 7 am - 7 pm
