Job Summary
Develop nursing care plans by reviewing physician prescriptions, examining residents, and documenting physical, psychological, and social conditions. Provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to residents, families, and friends while teaching self-care skills regarding medications and conditions. Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers; direct nursing assistants and other personnel; and maintain safe, secure environments by adhering to infection-control policies and medication regulations. Evaluate resident care against therapeutic standards, modify care plans based on changing needs, and keep resident care equipment and supplies operational. Work rotating days, evenings, nights, and weekends from 6:00am-6:30pm or 6:00pm-6:30am in a multidisciplinary team at Avera Oahe Manor.
Required Qualifications
- Active license in the state of practice upon hire
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Board of Nursing
- Ability to work the hours specified
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
Desired Qualifications
- 1-3 years Experience working in a clinical or long term care environment
