Job Summary
Review physician prescriptions and develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining residents, and defining interventions. Provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to residents, families, and friends while teaching self-care skills and medication management. Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers; direct nursing assistants and other staff. Maintain safe environments by adhering to infection-control policies, medication protocols, and legal regulations. Keep resident care equipment operational and ensure supplies are stocked. Evaluate care outcomes against standards and modify care plans as needed. Work night shifts (2:00pm-10:30pm or 6:00pm-6:30am) in a multidisciplinary team at Avera Mary House.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing
- An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire
- The ability to work the hours specified
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- The ability to communicate effectively with others
- The ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
Desired Qualifications
- 1-3 years Experience working in a clinical or long term care environment
