Job Summary
The Registered Nurse provides direct care in Labor and Delivery, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for a designated group of patients. Responsible for coordinating with the interdisciplinary health care team to promote positive patient outcomes, maintain quality standards, ensure infection control and patient safety, and support patient and family education. Duties include documentation, ensuring equipment operation, maintaining nursing supplies, and supervising and mentoring other nursing staff as needed. Specialty functions include scrub duties for cesarean sections in Delivery Room and adherence to applicable nursing standards and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program required.
- PA Act 153 Clearance (Act 33 with renewal, Act 34 with renewal, Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal)
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program or completion within six months of hire/transfer into department
