Job Summary
RN in Labor and Delivery provides patient assessment, continuous fetal and maternal monitoring, assists with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, and offers immediate postpartum and neonatal stabilization. Administers obstetric medications safely, educates families through labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum phases, and collaborates with OB/GYNs, anesthesiologists, and neonatal specialists. Participation in shared governance and ongoing skill development is encouraged; Transition to Practice/Nurse Residency programs are available for nurses moving into this specialty.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN)
- Active, unencumbered RN license in Virginia
- Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience
Desired Qualifications
- Active RN license in Virginia
- 1 year of acute care nursing experience
- L&D or Women's Health experience (preferred)
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN)
- Transition to Practice (TTP) / Nurse Residency programs available for move into this specialty
