Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) in Maternal Child Health for Per Diem position at Day Kimball Health in Putnam, CT. Responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for patients in the Maternal Child Health Unit; conducts comprehensive health assessments; initiates therapeutic and diagnostic procedures; educates on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of acute/chronic illnesses; documents in medical records; collaborates with physicians; maintains patient safety and navigates standards of practice with a compassionate, team-based approach. Requires graduate of an accredited nursing program and CT RN license; CPR certification and NRP required within specified timelines; Labor and Delivery experience preferred; additional certifications as needed by unit.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required
- Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of Connecticut is required
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent is required (must obtain within three months if not currently certified)
- American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation certification is required within three months of employment
- Labor and Delivery experience preferred
- Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area
