Job Summary

Perform the nursing process using evidence-based practice to deliver individualized, relationship-based care to patients and significant others. Coordinate interdisciplinary rounds, case reviews, and timely documentation while maintaining a respectful, inclusive clinical environment. Partner with the team to develop protocols, participate in performance improvement initiatives, and mentor new staff to ensure a qualified workforce. Complete all mandatory education, competency assessments, and required certifications including ACLS and BLS. Work full-time nights (7p-7a) in the Intermediate Care Unit at Cobb Hospital within Wellstar Health System.

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) - Single State or RN-COMPACT - Multi-state Compact
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or Amer Red Cross Advanced Life Support (ARC-ALS) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC-BLS) certification
  • Minimum 2 years direct patient care experience
  • Knowledge of Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act
  • Understanding of American Nurses Association Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards
  • Ability to perform the Nursing Process (assessment; diagnosis; identification of outcomes; planning; implementation and evaluation)
  • Ability to coordinate care through effective partnerships
  • Ability to practice using current clinical practice standards
  • Ability to complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessment
  • Ability to complete required mandatory education
  • Ability to complete population specific education
  • Ability to serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses, staff, or students
  • Ability to promote Evidence based practice, nursing research and performance improvement
  • Ability to participate in value analysis as part of the decision-making process
  • Ability to participate in data collection
  • Ability to pose relevant clinical questions to advanced evidence-based practice
  • Ability to consult appropriate experts and use appropriate resources and evidence to address practice questions
  • Ability to proactively plan for the care of patients across the care continuum
  • Ability to participate in the development of protocols and procedures
  • Ability to support efficient and effective use of human and material resources
  • Ability to comply with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct
  • Ability to uphold the voice of the patient, system policies and procedures
  • Ability to practice in a manner that is fiscally responsible
  • Ability to promote the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members
  • Ability to participate and support performance improvement inclusive of all stakeholders, research and research utilization
  • Ability to initiate and/or lead activities promoting safe, quality patient care
  • Ability to actively support/participate in shared governance at all levels in the system

  • Ability to work Night shifts (7p-7a)
  • Ability to work Full-Time schedule

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Nursing degree (Associates Nursing or Diploma in Nursing is required)
