Job Summary

Provide direct and telephone nursing care, health teaching, patient advocacy, and supervise care coordination for patients in a Texas Children's Intensive Outpatient Program setting. Collect pertinent patient data using evidence-based assessment and complex interviewing techniques. Develop and implement individualized plans of care for health promotion, malignance, or situational problems in partnership with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Reevaluate care delivery based on patient needs and condition, revising diagnoses and outcomes as necessary. Incorporate family and caregiver understanding into the care plan while maintaining age-appropriate communication. Requires current Texas nursing licensure, BLS certification, and nine months of professional experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing
  • Associates Degree in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement
  • Technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement
  • Must be currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN
  • Verified BSN-equivalency or a signed agreement
  • Current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • 9 months of professional nursing experience
