Job Summary
Assess patient needs and monitor vital signs for adults with complex medical conditions and co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses on a 12-bed IMAP unit. Develop and modify care plans, administer medications, and supervise less skilled personnel while utilizing therapeutic communication and de-escalation strategies. Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and coordinate with internal medicine, psychiatry, and social work teams. Work nights as part-time staff (0.6 FTE) with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4/1:5.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Registered Nurse (RN) - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to interpret adapt and apply guidelines and procedures
- Adherence to Standards of Professional Nursing Practice/ Process / Performance [ANA Standards addendum- signed] and accrediting body standards
- Ability to assess data reflecting the patient's status and interpreting appropriate cultural information of the patient(s)
- Ability to maintain effective working relationship with patients, employees, and the public
- Pre-employment drug test
