Job Summary
Assess patient needs, monitor vital signs, and modify care plans for adults with complex medical conditions and co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses. Administer medications, prepare patients for examinations, and provide health education while utilizing therapeutic communication and de-escalation strategies. Direct less skilled personnel and maintain accurate documentation in EPIC. Work night shifts in a 12-bed unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, adhering to ANA standards and trauma-informed care principles.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Registered Nurse - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to interpret adapt and apply guidelines and procedures
- Adherence to Standards of Professional Nursing Practice/ Process / Performance [ANA Standards addendum- signed] and accrediting body standards
- Ability to assess data reflecting the patient's status and interpreting appropriate cultural information of the patient(s)
- Ability to maintain effective working relationship with patients, employees, and the public
- Pre-employment drug test
Desired Qualifications
- One year experience in a direct patient care setting
- EPIC documentation
