Job Summary
Inpatient Wound Care RN provides assessment and management of complex wounds (pressure injuries, surgical wounds, diabetic ulcers) and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to promote healing. Performs wound care procedures (cleaning, dressing, debridement), monitors progress, and adjusts treatment plans. Seeks WOCN certification or is enrolled in WOCN coursework with a goal to certify within 24 months. Requires CT RN license; BSN strongly preferred; 2+ years Med/Surg in acute care; strong wound care experience preferred; includes professional development and adherence to standards of care. Full-time, day shift, 32 hours/week; pay range $36.15-$59.95/hour.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- RN license in the state of Connecticut
- Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience in an acute care setting
- BSN strongly preferred and required for WOCN certification
- Ability and commitment to obtain WOCN certification within 24 months of hire
- Current BLS/CPR certification (preferred)
- WOCN certification or enrollment in WOCN-accredited program (preferred)
- Familiarity with evidence-based wound care protocols and pressure injury prevention strategies
