Job Summary
Assess patient status and determine priorities for acute, critical patients requiring intensive medical care. Implement clinical nursing interventions and develop patient care plans to enhance outcomes. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to create a safe environment, managing pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care including discharge instructions. Coordinate surgical team needs with other providers while observing surgical procedures from a broad perspective. Requires current RN licensure, BLS, and ACLS certifications, with a preference for CNOR and two years of critical care experience. Scheduled weekly hours of 40 during days and afternoons.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- BLS Basic Life Support
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- Two years of RN experience in Critical Care Department
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS and/or PALS may be required within 6 months based on specific surgical department requirements
- CNOR Certified Perioperative Nurse
- SGNA Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates
- Completion of OR internship program
- Successful completion of Peri-op 101
