Job Summary
Deliver direct inpatient oncology nursing care for adult patients, including comprehensive assessment, individualized care planning, and administration of antineoplastic and supportive therapies per protocols. Provide patient and family education, coordinate multidisciplinary care, document in Epic, and participate in quality and safety initiatives. Manage central venous access devices (ports, PICCs), respond to oncologic emergencies, and ensure infection prevention and hazardous drug handling. May serve as charge nurse, preceptor, or mentor; contribute to clinical research activities and uphold regulatory standards and Dana-Farber’s mission and core values.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in nursing (ADN) required
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing strongly preferred; BSN within 4 years for ADN holders
- Current Massachusetts RN license (unrestricted)
- Oncology/hemato nursing experience preferred (inpatient/infusion setting)
- ONC/ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy certificate within 6 months of hire (role-dependent)
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Desired Qualifications
- BSN preferred or must complete BSN within 4 years
- Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certificate within 6 months of hire (role-dependent)
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- 1 year of recent RN experience preferred
- Massachusetts RN license (unrestricted)
