Registered Nurse (RN), Inpatient - NICU Level 4, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Level 4 (Nights)

Job Summary
Assess, plan, educate, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate care for critically ill neonates while collecting and analyzing medical record data to coordinate patient care. Analyze situations to anticipate problems, detect status changes, and develop individualized plans of care that re-prioritize as necessary. Execute therapeutic interventions, participate in interdisciplinary rounds, and identify barriers to learning to educate patients and families. Document patient responses and progress toward desired outcomes while maintaining confidentiality. Act as a resource for new team members and contribute to unit goals. This Level IV NICU provides specialized treatments including CRRT and ECMO, supported by a multidisciplinary team of specialists.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or other degree in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement
- Current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact
- BLS certification
- 9 months of professional nursing experience
- Positive and appropriate interpersonal skills
- Good time and resource management skills
- Flexibility
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of unit-specific equipment
- Knowledge of the nursing process
- Critical thinking skills
- PALS certification
- Interdisciplinary collaboration
- Respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards

- Previous NICU or ICU experience
