Job Summary
Staff RN needed for NICU Level 4 in North Austin, TX to provide age-appropriate, family-centered nursing care in a fast-paced NICU. You will assess patients and families, collect and analyze data from medical records to coordinate care, develop individualized plans of care, participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care conferences, execute physician or nurse interventions, evaluate patient responses, identify barriers to learning and deliver education, maintain confidentiality, and serve as a resource for new staff. Strong emphasis on family-centered care, cost-effective care, and collaboration with the health team is required. Must hold or be eligible for Texas RN licensure and BLS, with BSN or enrollment in BSN program; PALS and NICU/ICU experience preferred; respiratory fit testing will be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or other degree in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement
- Current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact and BLS certification
- 9 months of professional nursing experience
- Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills, effective time and resource management, flexibility, strong oral and written communication, knowledge of unit-specific equipment, nursing process, critical thinking, PALS, and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Previous NICU or ICU experience highly preferred
- Respiratory fit testing compliance with occupational health and safety standards
