Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for adults with conditions including small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients, evaluate care effectiveness, and coordinate care with other departments while ensuring patient rights and confidentiality. Perform duties consistent with Mercy service standards, including assessments and care coordination in a unit offering a strong clinical foundation. Requires current Missouri RN license, BLS certification, and Associate, Diploma, or BSN degree. Full-time 36-hour day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
Desired Qualifications
- Previous hospital experience
- BSN
- Additional state licensure or specialty certifications
- Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
