Registered Nurse RN Inpatient Full Time Days

Job Summary
Direct and provide high-quality, evidence-based care to surgical patients in a specialty hospital setting, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating pre- and post-operative needs. Complete thorough patient assessments and document them accurately in the electronic Medical Record, while providing necessary education to patients and families. Initiate and update individualized patient care plans every 24 hours, communicating changes to the physician and overseeing Certified Nurse Aide direct patient care. Perform procedures safely, administer medications including IV therapy, and maintain a secure environment using proper body mechanics and infection control protocols. Reassess patients at appropriate intervals to ensure desired outcomes and support facility safety through hourly patient rounding. Requires current Kansas RN licensure, one year of hospital experience preferred, and BLS/ACLS certifications within 60 days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the United States.
- Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Kansas
- BLS and ACLS certifications required within 60 days of hire.
- PALS as assigned.
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
- Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care as well as basic computer skills to meet documentation standards.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Have cognitive skills for math, reading, filing and sterile technique skills
- Vision for near, far & mid-range accommodation
- Hearing for low, medium, and high pitch
- Able to lift 50 pounds using proper lifting technique several times during their shift
- Requires physical ability for long-term standing, occasional sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching with reaching above head and below waist
Desired Qualifications
- One year RN experience in a hospital medical-surgical, acute care facility or ambulatory care setting preferred.
- Previous surgical, orthopedic, neurological, or critical care RN experience desired.
