Job Summary
Inpatient Acute Care RN at West Campus (Texas Children’s) responsible for conducting comprehensive patient assessments, prioritizing and updating care plans, participating in interdisciplinary rounds, documenting in the medical record, administering medications and treatments in a timely manner, and supporting patient/family education and engagement. Units include 3 West and 5 West with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 (sometimes 1:3). Requires TX RN licensure/BLS, plus knowledge of ACLS/PALS and the nursing process; minimum 1 year of professional nursing experience; strong communication, time/resource management, and adaptability. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or an associate’s degree, technical diploma, or current enrollment in a nursing bridge program
- Current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact and BLS certification are required
- One (1) year of professional nursing experience
- Knowledge of the nursing process, critical thinking skills, PALS, ACLS and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Operate unit specific equipment
- Demonstrate flexibility
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
