Job Summary
Part-time Night shift RN in inpatient Med/Surg at West Campus, Texas Children’s Hospital. Responsibilities include assessing the patient/family, analyzing status, re-prioritizing and updating plan of care, participating in interdisciplinary rounds, assisting patients/families with implementing the plan, assessing learning needs, administering medications and treatments, and contributing to unit performance improvement initiatives. Requires BSN or ADN, Texas BRN license or compact, BLS, 1 year of nursing experience, strong communication and teamwork, and ability to operate unit-specific equipment. Respiratory fit testing is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or an associate’s degree, technical diploma, or current enrollment in a nursing bridge program
- Current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact and BLS certification
- One (1) year of professional nursing experience
- Positive and appropriate interpersonal skills
- Good time and resource management skills
- Flexibility
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Operate unit specific equipment
- Knowledge of the nursing process, critical thinking skills, PALS, ACLS and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards
