Job Summary

Evaluate resident care quality and outcomes regarding Healthcare Acquired and Community Acquired Infections in accordance with Life Care standards. Collect, analyze, and present infection data while monitoring associate compliance with control measures. Prepare staff education and serve as a resource to all departments, including monitoring Public Health Advisories from federal and state agencies. Lead the Antibiotic Stewardship Program and implement Infection Prevention and Control policies. Maintain current knowledge of infection trends and perform work within the scope of the RN license. Works onsite at the physical facility; CPR certification and specialized IPC training required.

Required Qualifications

  • Nursing diploma (associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing)
  • Licensed/registered in applicable State
  • active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • CPR certification
  • Specialized IPC training beyond initial professional training or education
  • Prior experience with geriatrics preferred
  • Certifications or training per State requirements (e.g., Certified TB Nurse)
  • Works onsite at the physical facility
  • Maintains a current knowledge of infection control trends, methodologies, and employee health practices
  • Knowledgeable of Infection Prevention and Control practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in the post-acute care facility
  • Performs work within the scope of his/her license
  • Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
  • Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
  • Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
