Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care as an RN II in a Neuro/Neurology Med Surg setting, including nursing assessments, exams/treatment support, patient education, and medical-record maintenance. Collaborate with physicians and the interprofessional team to coordinate high-quality, patient- and family-centered care. Demonstrate clinical competence in administering medications, performing procedures, and managing emergencies, while acting as a patient advocate. Assume leadership roles such as charge nurse or preceptor, participate in unit/shared governance initiatives, and contribute to service line or hospital-wide initiatives in partnership with management. Requires state RN licensure in Texas, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification; Magnet-preferred candidates encouraged. Strong communication, time management, and teamwork skills, with the ability to function independently and apply clinical judgement in alignment with the Nurse Practice Act.
Required Qualifications
- Twelve months RN experience in a healthcare environment
- RN - Texas State Licensure
- BLS - Basic Life Support
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (AHA)
