Job Summary
Assess patient needs and implement teaching strategies for diverse patients, families, and disciplines. Utilize the Nursing Process to deliver care, effectively delegate, and manage nursing team resources as a leader on the Interdisciplinary Team. Evaluate data to promote change and achieve optimal patient outcomes while maintaining accountability for quality care. Communicate clearly with varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process and embrace behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse Diploma
- Current RN License in the state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects
- Occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force
- Exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue
- Works in a patient care area
- Works in an area where patients enter
- Works directly with patients
- Works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases
- Occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases
- Occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Certification in clinical specialty area
