Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU Float role involves assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and supervising patient care on the nursing unit, with responsibilities that include delegating and coordinating care, serving as a preceptor to new staff, and functioning as a charge nurse. The position emphasizes neuro-focused competencies such as neuro assessment, airway management of neuro patients, care for tracheostomy patients, and care for patients on ventilators. Additional duties include providing education after assessing learning needs, contributing to the patient and family education program (Tia), and handling specialized procedures (e.g., pharyngeal/endotracheal/tracheostomy suctioning) and equipment care (e.g., Halo brace). Requires NICU/Neonatal ICU RN experience and a nursing license; BSN is preferred. Proficiency with computer/EHR systems and ongoing patient care planning to achieve desired outcomes is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate Of An Accredited School Of Nursing
- BSN preferred
- Valid State Of Connecticut Registered Nurse License
- BLS Required
- 1 Year Neonatal ICU RN experience required
