Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) per ICU float needs to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care on a nursing unit with supervision of non-RN personnel, serve as preceptor and charge nurse, and demonstrate neuro-focused skills (neuro assessment, airway management for neuro patients, tracheostomy/endotracheal suctioning, Halo brace, ventilation support) while teaching the Tia program. Responsibilities include developing care plans, collaborating with the healthcare team, documenting outcomes, ensuring discharge readiness, and maintaining performance in customer service, teamwork, and resource utilization. Requires BSN preferred and CT RN license, with 1 year of acute nursing experience; serves in various units as distribution of staff and patients may require. Skills include pharyngeal/endotracheal suctioning, Halo brace care, ventilator care, and education for patients and families; precepting new staff and acting as charge nurse as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate Of An Accredited School Of Nursing
- BSN Preferred
- Valid State Of Connecticut Registered Nurse License
- BLS Required
- 1 Year Acute RN Experience Required
- Critical Care or Emergency experience preferred
