Job Summary
Assess patient physiologic and psychosocial health status, including gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and neurological systems. Implement the nursing process for care planning, execution, and evaluation while collaborating with physicians and delegating tasks to support staff. Administer medications safely, perform grade I-IV decubitus care, and provide patient and family education on conditions and discharge planning. Maintain constant vigilance over patient safety, manage emergency situations, and document all treatments and outcomes accurately. Work varied shifts including every other weekend and holidays, with hours ranging from 6:00 pm to 9:30 am. Requires a current New York State RN license, BLS/ACLS certification, and documented critical care experience.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
- BLS
- ACLS
- Documented Critical Care experience
- Must be enrolled in an accredited program within 24 months of employment, if hired after January 1, 2013
- Must obtain a BSN Degree within five (5) years of employment date
