Job Summary
ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Springfield Regional Medical Center. The RN in the ICU performs comprehensive nursing care for acutely ill patients, using organizational and leadership skills to assess status, prioritize problems, implement interventions, and develop care plans aimed at improving patient outcomes. Responsibilities include initial and ongoing patient assessments, creating and evaluating plans of care, administering medications safely, coordinating with the interdisciplinary care team, adapting to rapidly changing patient conditions, and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment. Requires current RN licensure, with BLS (and ACLS preferred; must obtain ACLS within 6 months of hire), PALS (preferred for pediatric units), and typically 1 year of RN experience (with 6 months in Med/Surg, Critical Care, Stepdown, or ED preferred). Required Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Ohio
- BLS Basic Life Support (required at some level; ACLS required within 6 months of hire)
- ACLS certification (preferred at hire; must obtain prior to direct patient care)
- PALS (preferred at hire or required in lieu of BLS/ACLS for Pediatric Units)
- 1 year of RN experience (required)
- 6 months RN experience in Med/Surg, Critical Care, Stepdown, or Emergency Department (preferred)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred, not required)
- Ability to administer medications safely and in accordance with policies
- Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary care team
- Strong clinical judgement and leadership skills
