Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU role on a Nursing Unit/Department, providing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, supervising non-RN personnel, and serving as Charge Nurse as needed. Responsibilities include developing and communicating a plan of care, coordinating with the healthcare team, ensuring patient readiness for discharge, and educating patients and families. The role requires competency in neuro assessment and care of neuro patients, airway management including tracheostomy care, suctioning, ventilator care, and knowledge of related procedures and equipment. The position also involves teaching and mentoring new staff as a preceptor and potential charge nurse duties, with emphasis on customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing; BSN Preferred
- Experience: 1 Year Neonatal ICU RN experience required
- Licensure: Valid State Of Connecticut Registered Nurse License
- Special Skills: BLS Required
- Proficient in Use of Computer Software to Include Electronic Patient Records
- Ability to Use Internet for Literature Searches Regarding Care for Patients
