Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) on the Heart Failure/Cardiac ICU units at YNHHS. Responsibilities include assessing the patient’s physical and psychosocial condition, developing and communicating a plan of care, implementing and coordinating care with the healthcare team, evaluating patient responses and readiness for discharge, and providing education to patients and families. Roles include preceptor to new staff, charge nurse duties, and ensuring high levels of customer service, teamwork, and professional development. The unit focuses on neuro care as well as post-operative cardiac care, including care for patients requiring advanced cardiac therapies and devices. Licensure as a Connecticut RN is required; BSN is preferred; BCLS certification required within one month of hire; clinical specialty certification encouraged. Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- Licensed and a currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- Current BCLS certification or to obtain within one month of hire
- Nursing practice governed by state Nurse Practice Act
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
- Experience in neuro patient care and ICU settings may be implied by unit descriptions
