Job Summary
Assess patients' physical and psychosocial condition continuously; develop, communicate, and document individualized plans of care in collaboration with the healthcare team; implement and coordinate plans of care; evaluate effectiveness and readiness for discharge; provide patient and family education; function as a preceptor to new staff and as a charge nurse; demonstrate neuro-focused assessment, airway management, and competency with devices such as endotracheal/tracheostomy suctioning, Halo braces, ventilators, and advanced heart failure management; work within specialized units like Neuro and Cardiac ICU, with exposure to ICU-level care and advanced therapies (e.g., LVAD, ECMO) and participate in ongoing professional development and adherence to standards of practice.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- Current BCLS certification or obtain within one month of hire
- Licensed and a currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
