Job Summary
Assess patients’ physical and psychosocial conditions; develop, document, and coordinate a plan of care with the healthcare team to achieve outcomes and readiness for discharge. Educate patients and families, provide ongoing education, supervise non-RN personnel, serve as preceptor to new staff, and act as Charge Nurse. Demonstrate competency in neuro patient care, including neuro assessment, airway management of neuro patients, care for patients with tracheostomies and ventilation, and care for post-operative cardiothoracic patients; utilize the Tia Teaching Program and perform related nursing responsibilities and interventions to support high-quality care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- Current BCLS certification or ability to obtain within one month of hire
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the state of Connecticut
