Job Summary
The RN provides patient-centered cardiac care across multiple units (HVC Cardiac Medical Intermediate Care, 5-2 SP; HVC Cardiac Surgery Intermediate Care and Step Down, 5-3 SP; Verdi 3 East and Verdi 5 East) using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, evaluation). Responsibilities include establishing therapeutic relationships, communicating and collaborating with patients, families, and the health care team, and ensuring culturally congruent care. Adheres to ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, professional ethics, and engages in leadership, education, and evidence-based practice. Education requirements include graduation from an accredited school of nursing with BSN preferred; CT RN licensure; BCLS certification (or obtained within one month of hire). The unit mix covers cardiovascular medical intermediate care, post-operative cardiac surgery, advanced heart failure/telemetry, and related cardiac services.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- BSN preferred
- BCLS certification within one month of hire
